Estadio Ciutat de València is the stadium of Levante Unión Deportiva and it was founded in 1909, at the time when Valencia Football Federation was created. Two football clubs were founded: the Gimnástico FC (heir of Universitario FC) and Levante FC (heir of Cabanyal FC).
In 1915, Levante Unión Deportiva stopped playing matches, but then came back in 1917.
