The Museum of Prehistory is located in Casa de la Beneficiencia and has been open since 1982. Most of the materials that make up the museum have been found through archaeological excavations from the Paleolithic period to the time of the Visigoths.

At the Museum of Prehistory there are two temporary exhibition halls, multiple research laboratories, different educational workshops, a gift shop, and a coffee bar for visitors.

The first floor there consist of a library and few permanent exhibitions devoted to the Paleolithic, Neolithic, and Bronze Age. On the second floor there are remains of the Iberian and Roman cultures on display.

Museum of Prehistory is one of the major museums in Valencia and is an excellent place to understand the history of the city.
